Baby showers in E4 are often held at home, in one of the halls near Chingford Mount, or outdoors at Ridgeway Park when the weather is kind. The outdoor ones need thinking about, because a buttercream cake sitting in the sun for two hours is not a happy cake.

Our kitchen sits about 15 minutes from Chingford, which matters more than it sounds. A tiered cake does not travel well, and a shorter journey means less time in the car and a cake that arrives exactly as it left. We deliver it ourselves and, for tiered cakes, assemble it on site rather than moving it built.
Anything sitting out at Ridgeway Park or in a hall with the heating on has to be built for it. Buttercream is beautiful and it is also the first thing to suffer. In warm conditions we would steer you towards a ganache under fondant, a firmer Swiss meringue, or a naked finish that is meant to look rustic and therefore does not look wrong as the afternoon goes on. Fresh flowers are the other thing worth planning. They wilt, and they need to be food safe and properly wrapped where they meet the cake, which not everyone does. Sugar flowers cost more and last forever, and for a shower where the photographs matter that is often the better call. If you are set on fresh, we will use them but we will fit them as late as we can. Tell us where the cake will actually stand, near a window or away from one, and we will design around it.

Yes. We make vegan and gluten free cakes with the same designs and finishes as everything else, usually with a small supplement. Everything is baked in a kitchen that handles nuts, gluten, wheat, dairy and egg, so we label clearly but cannot promise an item is free from all traces.
